August 2008 Ministry Update

Blessings Untold for BGSP with Pastor Eric's Visit

The big man of God behind the small pulpit is Pastor Eric Bautista of Queens Bible Church (QBC), New York, one of our ministry partners who holds our rope since the start of the ministry in Bohol. It was just a dream before that Pastor Eric could come. But God made that dream come true last July 27 when we had a fellowship with him and his company at our humble meeting place in Tagbilaran. And that was a fellowship that brought joy, comfort, and surprise, unexpected, manifold blessings to BGSP. Thank you!

The envelopes in the workers' hands are the evidences
of love from
Queens Bible Church, New York, USA.

The first blessing we gained is invaluable encouragement. The workers and church members decided to work harder and smarter. It's a boost to our morale as pioneering workers in Bohol. The second blessing is the bundles of love gift to the workers/churches coming from the QBC Women's Ministry and from individuals whose love for God overflows. Thank you!

Nearing the Target Date

On this site will rise the Lord's Tent of Tagbilaran Church, which will accomodate 200 seats on our second church anniversary, August 31, 2008.

Only three more weeks to go and the Southern Baptist Church of Tagbilaran will be celebrating her second anniversary. Upon our organization in 2006, we pledged to double our membership every year. We started with 16 and doubled in 2007 - we were 32. We almost made it this year, with 54 to date. We humbly acknowledge the Spirit's working among us who "added to the church daily as should be saved" and also "it is God who gave the increase". We also praise God for two mission churches: Nan-od Baptist Church in Nan-od Sierra Bullones and Lila Bible Fellowship in Poblacion Lila, Bohol. Pastor Junior Bitoonan of Talibon indicated to join BGSP and will soon be starting a work in Bien Unido, Bohol, as soon as possible. Praise God for His wonder-working power. Hallelujah!

News In Variety

Pastor Gamie Beltran turned 61 last August 3. He was surprised by the church members with a dawn serenade, a birthday cake, and balloons. It was indeed a "happy birthday" for him, a sexagenarian, to see the young generation of workers in the Bohol catch his vision of planting 48 churches and training 70 workers for Bohol. May you live to see your vision come true!
