We all know and expect that this year 2009 is the most challenging year to live. All around we hear the bad news of the global economic crises. The more that people are looking not only for bread but also for jobs. Because most bread winners now become “bread losers”, they lost their jobs. Some lost hope, even Christians have turned back to follow after “things” of this world. We are sad to say and to see that we have workers who left us to look for greener pastures and for too much care for this world. They have the “to see is to believe” theology, taking the short cut route rather than wait for the right timing.
However, we observed also, that in every adversity there is always an opportunity. Now is the best time to preach hope, when the worldly system has failed. It is the high time to preach the gospel of peace because there is chaos, security in Christ when people are so insecure for their future. It is our prayer that we could meet these kinds of people who are looking for hope, peace and security. As the New Year begins, we also intensify our counter strike with the enemy through intensive prayers, fasting, teaching and preaching of the Word. We are more careful this year to aim at the proper target, train the right leaders and focus our time and resources on things that we really count for His glory alone. We thank God for giving us His wisdom.
