Medical Mission 2009 brought love and healing to the people of Tagbilaran and Panglao by giving free medical services for three days. Before the medical treatment are usually crying sessions with the volunteers who witness the love of Christ to the patients. Others confided their personal problems to the counselors. There was a spiritual relief by the word of God before the patients were physically treated. There were 32 members of Dr. Gatdula’s team who were surgeons, medical doctors, pediatricians, dentists, pastors, and volunteer counselors. Some were coming from Baguio City and Manila. Our team from Bohol is composed of 17 trained counselors who helped in witnessing.

We praise God that we were able to serve 992 patients and there were almost six hundred professions of faith. Treating patients physically may be easy but the job left to us, the follow up and the discipleship of new believers, is a long battle to be fought. We know each has his/her own bondages to be freed from. Our prayers may not be sufficient that’s why we solicit your help. We also request you to please continue to pray for more mature workers to help us. We might be starting another church in Panglao in which there were more than 200 professions of faith were made. Presently, we are making contacts with the patients, assorting their names and grouping them by ages and addresses so that we can assign each of our members for follow up.

It was such a blessing for the new believers because they had experience sharing the word of God for the first time. It also unites the church because everyone helped according to their ability. Most of all, we gained wisdom and knowledge in doing things and making right decisions. This time, church members who transferred residence are replaced also.

May is Graduation-Filled Month

Pastor Gamie & Ate Millie graduated from a Roadmap facilitators training in Cebu last May 29, 2009.
Ginging and Vicvic are cousins who pledge to graduate from self-life in order to follow Jesus as their master.
Mrs. Fedie Mendoza, 68, is the first to graduate from our church to be with our Maker-which is far better.

Praises And Thanksgiving!

  1. That critics and persecutors were silenced when we proved to the people that it is not true that "people from other religious sects will not be buried in the cemetery" when our sister in Tagbilaran City church died and was given a decent burial.
  2. For the coming of the medical mission to give us contacts, the professions of faith, and for opportunity to serve many people.
  3. For acquiring a computer set with internet, new guitars for the worship team. (courtesy from a church member)
  4. For 18 children who finished the ten lessons from the Samaritan Purse, they are willing to take another Bible study course.
  5. For family teamwork in the ministry.
  6. For continued financial support to the ministry.

Requests For More Prayers

  1. Grace, strength, and wisdom for the follow up of those who respond to the gospel.
  2. Many disciple makers to volunteer.
  3. God’s clear guidance for Junjun (our youngest son) as he seeks the Lord for God’s leading. He is making sure that God leads him to join our ministry team in Bohol.
  4. Wisdom and guidance in evaluating and road mapping the ministry in Bohol (July-August).
  5. Resources for the continued training of workers.

Reporting with grateful hearts,
Pastor Gamie and Millie
